What we offer
Grounded Ecotherapy is part of Providence Row Housing Association who provide housing and support services to those who have experienced homelessness, substance addiction or poor mental health.
We offer therapy, through horticulture, to those who are in recovery from those issues and we receive referrals from the NHS, local authorities and organisations, from those who self-refer or those who just have an interest in learning more about horticulture and gardening in general.
Through our work we aim to give our volunteers the opportunity to learn new skills, in horticulture and also things like basic carpentry and the use of power tools. We are also committed to improving the mental and physical well-being of our volunteers and to reducing isolation that is so often felt by those with substance misuse and poor mental health issues. Quite often our volunteer sessions will be the only contact with others that some volunteers may have had with others for a long time. We aim to provide a safe, friendly environment to help reduce this isolation for those who are experiencing it. A number of our former volunteers have gone on to secure full time employment after volunteering with us.
