PRHA is built on the values of: compassion, respect, inclusion, empowerment and justice. We also are based in one of the most vibrant and diverse areas in the country. So it is central to our organisation from the Board through to the front line to ensure that our services are fair, open and equal for all and our working environments are inclusive. This includes for instance, making sure that residents from all backgrounds have an opportunity to input into decision making and that staff are trained to understand the specific experiences of individual residents including those who are LGBTQ+ and those from ethnic minorities.
We are committed to 2 pledges- Social Housing Against Racism and the LGBTQ+ pledge. These help us to ensure that we visibly address the specific needs of those residents and staff.
Every year we set targets in an action plan to ensure that we monitor progress on the pledge objectives and others set in response to identified issues.
Currently we are focussing on our anti-social behaviour/ harassment policies, including how this affects residents who may be discriminated against. It is vital that we support all of our residents to feel safe and able to thrive in their homes and local community. Any resident who is interested in this work should contact Jaydee Anciro at the PRHA central office
See our page on anti-social behaviour for more information.
