World Homelessness Day, marked on 10 October, provides a platform to highlight the challenges faced by people without safe, stable housing, celebrate successful initiatives, and encourage governments, organisations, and communities to work toward sustainable solutions for homelessness.

190 people within PRHA’s supported accommodation have or had previously slept rough

93% of PRHA Hostel Residents have multiple support needs, which is defined as two or more of: mental health /drug or alcohol use/offending behaviour /poor physical health/ self-neglect/ other support need / history of rough sleeping. In order to support our residents we use a person-centred and trauma-informed approach to help residents feel supported and prepared for achieving their individual goals and aspirations.

Snapshot since World Homelessness Day last year:

• PRHA helped 531 households by providing them with safe, clean and secure accommodation.
• A number of residents with complex needs, such as poly-substance use, long histories of trauma and chronic physical health and mental health issues were enabled to move on from our supported housing.
• Residents continue to be involved in the running and delivery of our services and organisation through advisory panels and the management board.
