LBTH 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence

From 25 November, (the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women) to 10 December, the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence Campaign is a time to galvanize action to end violence against women and girls around the world.

 

The LBTH VAWG Team have co-ordinated a partnership Programme of Activities which we need your help to promote across the borough. The full Programme is attached alongside the training brochure; this programme is for professionals working with LBTH residents only. Please encourage and allow your teams to attend as many activities as possible, there are 38 fantastic opportunities, such as:

 

  • Understanding Stalkers webinar by the Stalking Threat Assessment Centre

  • Virtual self-defence glasses for girls aged 14+ (women and girls only)

  • The Alternative Jack the Ripper tour by Beyond the Streets

  • Female Genital Mutilation training from Women’s Health and Family Service

  • Involuntary Celibate webinar from Police

  • White Ribbon and Solace stall at East London Mosque with a sermon on gender-based violence

  • How to Apply for a Non-Molestation Order through the National Centre of Domestic Violence

  • VAWG and Hate Crime One Stop Shop at Whitechapel and Christ Street Ideas Store

  • Sylheti session on how victims of domestic abuse can make a homelessness application
